Balbir is a long-time resident of Brampton. She is married and the mother of two school aged children. Balbir holds a Masters degree in science and she is an independent Registered Dental Hygienist. Balbir is a successful business entrepreneur running an innovative mobile dental hygiene clinic, “Smiles on Wheels”which was recently recognized and showcased on CBC’s Dragons’ Den television show.

Balbir is a passionate oral and general health advocate, delivering presentations at schools, senior’s clubs, community organizations.  She is an accomplished motivational keynote speaker who is regularly sought as a guest to mentor young visionaries at schools, colleges and McMaster University’s engineering students.

She is mindful of the changing times and is a firm believer in preparing our youth for the challenges of tomorrow by motivating them to think outside the box, and to follow and achieve their dreams.

Balbir understands the issues and challenges our region faces due to changing demographics. She reflects the diversity of our community and firmly believes in providing safe and nurturing school environment.

Community Involvement

Balbir, with her passion to make a positive impact on the community, selflessly volunteers her time. She started a non-profit organization, My Dream Smilewith the aim of educating and helping underprivileged members of society on both oral and general health. Balbir has presented at various schools, seniors’ clubs, charitable organizations and women’s shelters.

Balbir is also the founder of “Let’s Walk Health”, an event she organized to promote awareness for various health issues by bringing together community health partners such as William Osler Health Care, and the Heart & Stroke Foundation. She hosted “Health Talk with Balbir”, a TV health information segment for the community.

Balbir will strive to bring awareness and solutions to issues such as mental health, drug abuse, bullying and youth violence, in consultation with all stakeholders to ensure that their concerns are addressed and represented on the Board, which affect our schools, children and families.
